Busabase

Busabase v0.96.0 Release Notes

Write formulas with live previews, generate QR codes for bases and records, and find your workspace's dedicated address in settings. Plus continuous reviews, PDF parsed-text inspection, and improvements to large workspaces, template installation, and record editing.

Released: October 15, 2026

✨ New Features

  • Write and try out formulas: When adding or editing a formula field in the base designer, you can enter expressions directly, click fields to insert references, search functions, view parameters, and use autocomplete.
  • Turn bases and records into QR codes: The public sharing dialog now lets you preview a QR code, download a PNG, or use native sharing when your browser supports it. Record details also have a Share entry, making it easy to print equipment records and post them on site.
  • Give your workspace a memorable address: Workspace settings now let you view, copy, and open your dedicated address. Owners and admins of Pro and Enterprise workspaces can also customize its name and check availability as they type.
  • Compare PDFs with their parsed text: Open a PDF in Drive and click Parsed text to view its existing parsed text on the right without leaving the original. The text follows you when you switch files, and you can load more of a long text or collapse the panel to give the preview more room.

🔧 Improvements

  • Move straight to the next review: When you open a request from the Inbox's pending-review list, approving it or requesting changes automatically opens the next item in the queue. After the last item, you return to the list.
  • Choose related records more easily: Relation fields now use a searchable picker. Selected records appear as tags you can remove individually, and single selections can be replaced directly.
  • See what uses a field before deleting it: The deletion dialog lists formulas, lookup fields, reverse relations, and view settings that reference the field within your visible scope. Links take you to the relevant places so you can address the impact first.
  • Install a template and start using it: When you install a template from the interface, content you have permission to write takes effect immediately by default. You no longer need to approve your own newly installed app in the Inbox. To check it first, you can still select Review content before it goes live.
  • Model choices are ready sooner in new chats: When you start another chat with the same Agent, you can see previously loaded model options and make a selection while it connects. Applying the selection still checks support on the current connection, reducing the wait without carrying over another session's selected model.
  • Calendar cards are easier to drag: On desktop, drag a card by its title or elsewhere on the card to reschedule it instead of aiming for the small handle on the left. Clicking still opens details. On mobile, dragging still requires a long press on the handle to avoid accidental date changes while scrolling.
  • Rename a base from the sidebar: Rename is back in the base menu, so you no longer need to open the designer. Existing permissions and review workflows stay the same.
  • Show archived records when you need them: The archived-records toggle now lives in the view's “…” menu instead of taking up space next to the record count. The menu shows the archived count and lets you show or hide those records whenever needed.
  • One less step to upgrade your workspace: Upgrading from a workspace's billing page or upgrade dialog now takes you directly to checkout for that workspace, without asking you to select it again.
  • Connection and handoff instructions are easier to follow: Full Agent connection guides now point to each tool's directory page. When a Skill is recommended, its official Skill documentation is offered first. Steps and copy buttons are no longer clipped on mobile.
  • More complete API key guidance: Help documentation now covers creation, expiration, permission selection, revocation, and troubleshooting. It also explains how one key relates to multiple workspaces so you can configure access for your needs.
  • Help external Agents hand back their results: The getting-started guide now includes examples of copying prompts from a base or skill node, handing them to an external Agent, and writing task results and evidence links back to Busabase, keeping chat outputs in your team's workspace.
  • Specify sorting directly for paginated app data: When building an AirApp or calling the API, paginated record reads can now sort directly by numbers or dates. You no longer need to create a view just to change the order or walk through every page to reach the one you want. When used with a view, its filters still apply while your explicit sort determines the order.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Saved relations no longer appear empty again: Fixed stale content overwriting the list after a record was successfully saved in its detail view. Drafts are preserved during background refreshes and failed saves, and only edited fields are submitted. Concurrent edits to the same field now show a conflict instead of silently overwriting changes, and you are warned before leaving a page with unsaved edits.
  • Home no longer misses proposals waiting for your review: After an Agent submitted and merged many changes, older pending proposals could disappear from Home even though the sidebar still showed work to do. Home now reads pending reviews directly and uses the same total as the sidebar, so newer completed changes no longer push them out.
  • Empty relations and attachments are counted correctly in filters: Clearing a relation or attachment could leave records treated as having a value, causing empty-value views and counts to miss them. Unset values, cleared empty lists, and null values are now handled consistently, with no need to edit existing data again.
  • Shared apps can load statistics and search: Opening an AirApp through a valid embed link no longer shows zero metrics or fails to load grouped statistics, paginated lists, or search because read requests were incorrectly blocked. Visibility still follows the link creator's actual permissions.
  • Restore items even when their old address is taken: Deleted bases, documents, and folders can now be restored to a new available address if new content has taken the original, without changing their names or data. Restore messages and change details explain the address change. Opening the restored item takes you to that content rather than another item with the same name, and the sidebar updates too.
  • Workspace addresses no longer disrupt sign-in and return navigation: Fixed Chinese workbench addresses failing to open, repeated sign-in redirects, and the return button on the access-denied page including an internal port.
  • Revise formula proposals after a conflict: If formula dependencies or the original expression have changed, the proposal now clearly identifies the conflict so you can revise and retry, or close it and submit a new one. It no longer gets stuck as approved while every merge attempt fails.
  • Stay in the demo as you explore: Switching pages or clicking navigation and notifications in the demo now preserves demo mode instead of unexpectedly taking you to sign-in or a missing page.
  • Wide blog tables no longer break mobile layouts: Wide tables scroll horizontally within their own area while the article stays within the phone's width.
  • Technical article addresses are no longer mistaken for files: Fixed content pages with text such as “.js” in the middle of their address being treated as static files and failing to open. Normal static-file links are unaffected.
  • Dropdown options no longer disappear off screen: Fixed long lists extending beyond the screen without scrolling. Even with many workspaces, you can now find and select entries near the bottom.
