Busabase v0.98.0 Release Notes
Field guidance means fewer questions, your usual board opens by default, and more files can be viewed without downloading them. This update makes handoffs, finding information, and working with Agents smoother.
Released: October 22, 2026
This update means less guesswork when filling in records, fewer page switches when checking information, and Agent results your team can keep building on.
✨ New Features
- Add field instructions and examples: Does "Delivery date" mean the expected date or the day the customer signs for the delivery? Add the rules and an example to the field so teammates can check them while filling in records or forms.
- Reorder views to open straight to your usual board: Drag your preferred view to the far left, and it will open by default the next time you visit the base; the whole team shares the same order.
- Preview more file formats online: View Excel, CSV, Word, EPUB, subtitles, SQLite databases, and archives directly, or read text and code without downloading files and finding another app. The Cloud edition can also convert PowerPoint, legacy Word, and OpenDocument files for preview.
- Connect Agents running on your computer: Pair Claude Code or Codex running on your computer through ACPRouter, then start new tasks from the Busabase interface.
- New official Python SDK: Read and write workspace bases, documents, and files directly from Python, leaving automation results ready for your team; synchronous and asynchronous calls are supported, with setup guides for Cloud and self-hosted servers. User guide · PyPI package
- New Busabase plugin for Dify: Search information, read and write records, create documents and folders, read skills, and save files directly from Dify workflows and Agents, keeping the results in your team's workspace; writes take effect or go to review according to existing permissions. Install from Dify Marketplace
- Record which Agent client made a change: The updated CLI records Agent client names it can identify, so API consumers can distinguish clients even when they share a key; names are self-reported labels, do not change permissions, and are not yet shown in the workbench.
🔧 Improvements
- Clearer onboarding and a better mobile reading experience: The new guide introduces bases, the knowledge base, the apps library, and the skills library through connecting an Agent, keeping its results, and reusing them next time.
- Preview complete prompts with automatic task targets: Prompt previews show the full target, task, and connection instructions, so nothing is left out when you copy them.
- Faster pending-review counts on Home and in the Inbox: Count updates are no longer weighed down by the full change history, while new requests, reviews, and permission changes still stay in sync.
- Start typing as soon as you create or edit: Creating a workspace, view, or field, or opening sidebar search puts the cursor straight in the input; file editing and similar actions no longer need an extra click either.
- File previews follow ten interface languages: Preview messages and buttons follow your interface language, with support for ten languages; failures distinguish missing files, insufficient permissions, and network problems.
- Know when you are reading an untranslated page: Help pages and release notes without a translation in your language clearly say they are showing the English version, rather than leaving you wondering whether language switching worked.
- Forum timestamps follow the reader's language: Timestamps use the reader's language instead of always showing English abbreviations such as "19d ago"; mismatched timestamps no longer make pages flicker on slow connections.
- Blog topic tags help you find related articles: Posts and list cards display their existing topic tags, and clickable tags in a post lead to more content on the same topic.
- Better default workspace addresses: New workspaces use their workspace ID as the default address; workspaces that support custom addresses can choose a name or clear it to return to the ID, while existing workspace addresses stay unchanged.
- New keys on the authorization page default to write access: Write data is selected by default when you create a key during authorization, avoiding a connection that cannot write directly; you can still choose another permission, and existing keys are unchanged.
- Agents can share temporary previews of individual records: An Agent with write access to a base can create a temporary, read-only link to one record, viewable without signing in; no management permission is needed, and it does not make the entire base public.
- The Busabase node for n8n now works with documents and files: Workflows can search information, write documents, sync skills and files, and report whether results have taken effect or await review, while existing workflows remain compatible. Localized field names display correctly, and transient errors no longer cause duplicate trigger registrations. Installation guide
- Agents can write records using field names: The API recognizes field slugs, IDs, and unique display names, and can query bases by slug; if none of the input fields match, it gives a clear error instead of appearing to succeed without saving the values.
- More readable OpenAPI types for generating clients: Generated type names are clearer, duplicate models are reduced, and documented error formats match actual responses, making integration and troubleshooting easier. Integration guide
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Cleared number fields no longer turn into 0: Clearing a number in individual or bulk edits now leaves it empty, while genuine zero values and required-field validation still work as before.
- New skills, apps, and Drives no longer become unexpectedly hidden: New skills, AirApps, and Drives follow workspace and folder visibility; private content and existing permissions are unchanged.
- Content in publicly shared folders opens correctly: Base records, AirApp data, HTML, skills, and Drive content now open correctly, and child content and attachments that inherit the share can use the folder password; private content and app source files remain protected.
- Workbench navigation no longer resets the sidebar and panels: Creating, installing, opening current-workspace notifications, and following same-workspace links in documents or whiteboards no longer reset the sidebar and panels; creation leads straight to the new content or review page, and returning from an invalid address keeps you in the current workspace.
- Switch languages without reloading the whole workbench: Interface text updates directly, without an extra full-page reload that resets dialogs and input.
- Fixed redirects from account notifications and when leaving a workspace: Account notifications and email buttons open settings correctly, and leaving a workspace takes you to one you can still access instead of an error page.
- Links in HTML previews open correctly: Same-workspace links open in the outer page and other websites open in a new tab, rather than being blocked; in-page navigation and new-tab shortcuts still work as usual.
- CSV and TSV previews preserve identifiers and date text: Leading zeros and original date text are preserved; garbled Chinese text and clipped worksheet tabs are also fixed.
- VTT subtitles are no longer mistaken for empty files: Fixed VTT files being treated as empty, including subtitles with speaker labels and different timestamp formats.
- Audio previews show progress and no longer get stuck loading: The player no longer shrinks to a single button or stays on "Loading"; unsupported browsers explain why they cannot play a WeChat voice note instead of reporting it as damaged.
- Empty file previews no longer load forever: Empty Markdown and subtitle files stop spinning indefinitely, and unreadable documents, archives, and PDFs explain the problem.
- File previews no longer take over workbench shortcuts: Previews no longer capture search-field arrow keys or disable right-click, save, and print across the page, and PDF text can be selected normally.
- More readable AirApp run logs: AirApp logs no longer pile up color control codes and every frame of a progress spinner, making installation and startup progress easier to follow.
