Two reviews, two risks
Approving an app action is not the same as accepting the data it proposes.

OpenAI's current documentation separates plugin availability, MCP server access, action permissions, connected-service authorization, and runtime controls. Installing or enabling one layer does not grant the others.

Connection and governance
Test the app, freeze its tools, then give the record its own reviewer.

Does Busabase replace ChatGPT Memory or Projects?
No. Memory and Projects help ChatGPT preserve relevant conversational context. Busabase is for structured records with explicit ownership, evidence, review, and reuse across workflows.
Can ChatGPT write directly into Busabase?
Only when plugin access, action controls, connected-service authorization, and the Busabase credential all permit it. For governed knowledge, give the connection proposal-level access so the result remains a Change Request until reviewed.
Does installing the plugin grant access to Busabase data?
No. OpenAI separates plugin availability from MCP server access and authorization in the connected service. The authenticated Busabase identity still determines which workspace, records, and actions are available.
Why not paste the entire research report into one field?
A long report is useful evidence, but downstream systems usually need stable fields such as claim, owner, effective date, confidence, and next check. Link the report and extract only the decisions that need operational reuse.
Can ChatGPT connect to a private or local MCP server?
A localhost URL is not a public endpoint. OpenAI documents Secure MCP Tunnel for connecting a private MCP server in developer mode. Busabase Cloud can use its public HTTPS endpoint without that tunnel.
